Suspected sockpuppets

Logical 1 has made only 6 edits to articles but appears to be able to wikilaywer surprisingly well with so few edits [1][2] whilst having a lot of animosity towards me. This seems to raise a red flag for a blocked or topic banned editor returning, or alternatively, one of the other astrologers using sock puppets. Zach is one possible editor who was topic banned a few months ago. Both identify as astrologers. Zach has been blocked for sock puppetry before. IRWolfie- (talk) 10:50, 23 October 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Actually, there's a whole nest of astrology SPAs, many now banned, all socks or meats ultimately related to Nicholas Campion/AAGB/Sophia Centre Nick Campion 2 (talk · contribs).

While Zachariel (talk · contribs) also appears to have been one of the clique, and its most active member until he was banned, Logical 1 (talk · contribs) is more likely a reincarnation of one of the many SPAs that was banned on March, 21, 2011: Aquirata (talk · contribs), Petersburg (talk · contribs), Costmary (talk · contribs), Erekint (talk · contribs), Apagogeron (talk · contribs), and Gary PH (talk · contribs). Other SPA members of the clique include Robertcurrey (talk · contribs), Wendy Stacey (talk · contribs), StarLightPiazza (talk · contribs), Makepeace101 (talk · contribs), Xpaulk (talk · contribs), Ken McRitchie (talk · contribs), Paul Quigley (talk · contribs), and, of course, Logical 1 (talk · contribs).

The latter three, Ken McRitchie (talk · contribs), Paul Quigley (talk · contribs) and Logical 1 (talk · contribs), are definitely co-meats, as they all magically reappeared after long absences to vote stack this AfD: [[3]], along with Minerva20 (talk · contribs), who magically reappeared to vote in these related AfDs: [[4]] and [[5]].

This clique has engaged in off-wiki canvassing in the past (hence the mass bannings), and it's too coincidental that they all magically reappeared to vote in these recent AfDs after long absences. Dominus Vobisdu (talk) 02:39, 24 October 2012 (UTC)[reply]

To add to that. a SPA has appeared at the science reference desk, to complain that the astrology article is biased Zen99 (talk · contribs). IRWolfie- (talk) 09:06, 24 October 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Case as requested: The account Logical 1 (talk · contribs) was started on June 10, 2011, one day after administrator Tnxman307 (talk · contribs) blocked three astrology SPAs for abusing multiple accounts: Nick Campion 2 (talk · contribs), Makepeace101 (talk · contribs) and Paul Quigley (talk · contribs). All accounts are SPAs, and all specifically supported the version of astrology promulgated by Nicholas Campion. Logical 1 (talk · contribs) was one of several SPAs that magically reappeared after almost a year's absence to votestack this AfD: [[6]]. The same is true for Paul Quigley (talk · contribs), whose only recent contribution was voting in that particular AfD.

John Addey was the founder of the Astrological Association of Great Britain, of which Nicholas Campion is the prime mover and former president.

Another example of votestacking is that both Logical 1 (talk · contribs) and Paul Quigley (talk · contribs) both turned up for this discussion: [[7]]. This was only one in three edits to the Astrology talk page by Logical 1 (talk · contribs), all within the space of three days. The other two edits also supported the opinions of Paul Quigley (talk · contribs) and other fans of Nicholas Campion.

Somehow, Paul Quigley (talk · contribs) managed to get unblocked after being blocked on June 9, 2011 (I do not know the details). His latest magical reappearence to votestack is evidence that this account is a sock, as well. Dominus Vobisdu (talk) 12:31, 25 October 2012 (UTC)[reply]

I fixed two incorrect links, I hope that's ok. IRWolfie- (talk) 12:57, 25 October 2012 (UTC) [reply]

SPAs who are not currently blocked for being sockpuppets and who also suddenly appeared at the two AfDs (possible sockmasters):

@Elen, Logical 1 is the sock. Look at their contribs, specifically the ones at WT:FTN. They have a good understanding of wikipedia policies, but only 6 article edits, and nearly half the edits to WT:FTN where they are doing the wikilaywering. This isn't a new editor who has just joined. IRWolfie- (talk) 01:14, 29 October 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Plus the account was started one day after three other accounts were blocked for misusing multiple accounts, and the same day as Zachariel (talk · contribs) was blocked for the same reason. Yes, these accounts are in close communication off-line, but some are true socks and meats operated by Nicholas Campion and his students/associates. The patter of edits is very much pro-Nicholas Campion's version of astrology, not merely pro-astrology generally. Logical 1 is clearly one of these. • Don't think any of these are socks. And it's unlikely you've got genuine meatpuppetry (as in making proxy edits for someone). I'll bet these guys are all on the same forum/mailing list (alt.astrologers ????). --Elen of the Roads (talk) 01:12, 29 October 2012 (UTC)[reply]
Just confirming, CU on the accounts with recent edits found nothing to suggest sockpuppetry. The editors are spread around the globe.--Elen of the Roads (talk) 02:10, 29 October 2012 (UTC)[reply]
