Overlapping edits at MeKin2D where the cited sources are papers by Simionescu, P.A.. The doi ref given, doi:10.1115/DETC2016-59086 points to the two user accounts & the papers' authors being one and the same. Quack! Cabayi (talk) 23:34, 12 January 2018 (UTC)

I reject any accusation of Sockpuppeting.
The vast majority of my edits are under the name of Simiprof. I did very fewer edits as Pasimi, and also did some edits without a login. Invariably my edits were constructive (additions and creation of new articles versus deletions) and were all made in good faith. I use the Pasimi primarily to upload to Wikimedia Commons materials on science and engineering. My fewer Simiprof Wikimedia Commons uploads are mostly of general interest. The login names of my two accounts are NOT at all difficult to distinguish from each other and from my actual identity.
- Sir Sputnik before making your blocking requests permanent, please read the message I left on your talk page. Thank you.Simiprof (talk) 18:26, 14 January 2018 (UTC)
In the interest of openness, I'm copying the following comments from my talk page. Please post all further comments here. Sir Sputnik (talk) 18:35, 14 January 2018 (UTC)
Since the closure of Wikipedia:Sockpuppet investigations/Simiprof has used the sock Pasimi to solicit AfD votes contrary to WP:CANVASS. There's still no disclosure on User:Pasimi and the disclosure on User:Simiprof is restricted to the addition of images on Commons, not to editing this wiki. The AfD has also attracted two votes from WP:SPA IPs, blatantly WP:MEAT. To my eyes Simiprof has crossed the line of WP:ILLEGIT on 2 points:
- Creating an illusion of support; and
- Contributing to the same page or discussion with multiple accounts.
Can we re-open the SPI or shall I re-report? Your thoughts please. Thanks. Cabayi (talk) 08:29, 14 January 2018 (UTC)
- I am not that familiar with Wikipedia rules to punctually invoke them. I do however notice an abusive behavior which consisted over the course of 3 days of two deletion requests of an article I started Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/MeKin2D, and the initiation of the above mentioned Sockpuppet investigation. Please note that Pasimi has not been used in solicit AfD votes, rather Simiprof, and the message left on the Talk page of Prof McCarthy was appropriate (Prof McCarthy has contributed to several articles where MeKin2D simulations have been posted and accepted). Therefore all the allegations brought up by Cabayi are unfounded. A personal note: Wikipedia exists because of additions to articles and uploads to Wikimedia Commons, and not because of deletions. Simiprof (talk) 18:07, 14 January 2018 (UTC)
- I claim that the use of two accounts is permissible under Wikipedia:Sock_puppetry#Legitimate_uses i.e. to separate my teaching and research interest from my other general interests.
- I also claim that no violation of Canvassing had occur i.e. I messaged an "editor who has made substantial edits to the topic or article".
- I also claim that this Sockpuppet investigation and the multiple deletion attempts of MeKin2D are abusive - all being initiated by an editor on who's edit log the word delete occurs 200 times per month. For these reasons I would like to request a WP:3. Simiprof (talk) 20:20, 14 January 2018 (UTC)
- Simiprof, in reply to your claims:
- "the use of two accounts is permissible" - it can be but your use of 2 accounts has not been within the scope of WP:VALIDALT. Using Simiprof to remove the PROD on an article created by Pasimi is the epitome of WP:INVALIDALT ("Creating an illusion of support").
- The distinction you claim, to "separate my teaching and research interest from my other general interests", may exist in your intentions but it does not exist in practice. Both Simiprof and Pasimi have edited MeKin2D - Article History - and both have done so since this SPI began. In fact both have done so since the first closure of this SPI when you were cautioned about your behaviour. ("Contributing to the same page or discussion with multiple accounts")
- "no violation of Canvassing" - Had you asked impartially from ALL the contributors on the articles you have in mind, or better still on the talk pages of any relevant wiki projects that would be OK. You solicited the vote of a specific Wikipedian, Prof McCarthy, who you thought would support our viewpoint. That is NOT OK. While Prof McCarthy is in no danger of being called your meatpuppet I wouldn't take any pride in being your cat's paw.
- If you have any respect for your friends and colleagues I'd recommend that you retract any outstanding requests for them to become WP:AFDSOCKs as Tsvl did.
- You've referred to my response to your spam and sockpuppetry as "an abusive behavior". If you want to pursue that line, WP:ANI is the place to lodge your complaint. Cabayi (talk) 13:39, 15 January 2018 (UTC)
- Simiprof, in reply to your claims:
- Cabayi, I invited Prof McCarthy to cast his vote on the matter of MeKin2D deletion because I know of his substantial contributions to categories similar those of MeKin2D. I also respect the fact that he does not hide his edits behind some cryptic user name. This being said, one does not have to be too high above IQ 100 to realize that there is a connection between pasimi, simiprof and the actual person behind their edits. Which means that I did not have any intent to create the illusion of support. I simply forgot to logout from pasimi after making some uploads to Wikipedia Commons. And sorry, but I was not aware that this any relevant wiki projects tool exists. As an impartial (and evidently more knowledgeable) user you could have done this yourself ! - Since there's no actual abuse here, this isn't sockpuppetry. That being said, Simiprof, you'd be well advised to clearly declare your alternate account on both user pages, and to limit your use of that account to only its intended purpose of commons uploads. You've not crossed the line into WP:INVALIDALT, but you've certainly gone beyond what is explicitly permitted under WP:VALIDALT. Closing without action. Sir Sputnik (talk) 01:45, 13 January 2018 (UTC)
- On hold - Pending evaluation of additional evidence presented here. Sir Sputnik (talk) 14:21, 14 January 2018 (UTC)
- Awaiting administrative action - They've now clearly crossed the line into meatpuppetry, given the !votes at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/MeKin2D. (The WHOIS data for this IP is particularly telling.) Please block the master account for a week, and the alternate account indefinitely. Sir Sputnik (talk) 16:52, 14 January 2018 (UTC)
- In response to Simiprof's comment above, using multiple accounts in relation to a single AfD discussion is rather dubious. You've pushed the use of your alternate account the very edge of what is acceptable after being explicitly asked to limit your use of that account to what is permitted under WP:VALIDALT. More relevant for this case is this comment. Given your academic background and the ___location of the IP, this is clearly someone you've asked to participate. That's textbook meatpuppetry. - Awaiting administrative action - These are also meatpuppets. Blocking the IP won't do much, but the registered account should be blocked indefinitely. Sir Sputnik (talk) 01:41, 17 January 2018 (UTC)

The IP's contributions are a collection of Simiprof's favourite topics. It looks like Simiprof is dodging the block. Cabayi (talk) 16:16, 20 January 2018 (UTC)

edit- Looks like a duck to me I've blocked the IP for two weeks, and reset Semiprof's block and extended it to 2 weeks from today. I'll also leave him a note letting him know that future block evasion will likely result in an indef block. TonyBallioni (talk) 19:45, 20 January 2018 (UTC)
