I have some recommend steps to troubleshoot this isssue for you :
- Make sure you have completely remove all Audio Drivers
- Open Device Manager:
- Right-click Start > Device Manager
- Expand “Sound, video and game controllers”
- Uninstall all audio devices listed (e.g., “Realtek Audio,” “Intel Smart Sound,” “Dolby,” etc.)
- Check the box: “Delete the driver software for this device”
- Expand “Audio inputs and outputs”
- Uninstall everything there too
- Open “View” > “Show hidden devices”
- Remove any ghosted or grayed-out audio-related devices
- Reboot
- Then move to clean Driver Residue with DDU (Optional but Recommended)
- Download Display Driver Uninstaller (DDU) (It also works for audio driver cleanup.)
- Boot into Safe Mode (Settings > Recovery > Advanced Startup > Restart Now > Troubleshoot > Advanced > Startup Settings > Enable Safe Mode)
- Use DDU to remove Realtek, Intel, or Dolby audio driver leftovers
- Reboot into normal mode
- Next thing you should install Lenovo Official Driver Cleanly
- Go to Lenovo’s support page for your Y7000P 2025 model
- Use your machine’s serial number to get the exact drivers.
- Download and install the latest:
- Realtek High Definition Audio Driver
- Intel Smart Sound Technology Driver (SST) (if present)
- Reboot and test again
- We can't skip this step to check Services and Audio Settings
- Run Services (Win + R →
services.msc
)- Ensure these are set to Running and Automatic:
- Windows Audio
- Windows Audio Endpoint Builder
- Ensure these are set to Running and Automatic:
- Sound Settings (Control Panel > Sound)
- On the Playback and Recording tabs:
- Right-click and enable all disabled/hidden devices
- Set defaults accordingly
- Try playing the test tone again
- We should check on BIOS & UEFI Check this is the last resort, but we will another way if all of those steps above not working
- Reboot and enter BIOS (usually by pressing F2 or Delete during boot)
- Look for anything audio-related:
- Make sure HD Audio or Onboard Audio is enabled
- Save and exit
