Steward requests/Miscellaneous
- If the wiki does have active administrators, file the request with one of them.
- If the wiki has an active editor community, any potentially controversial action (deletion of actual content, edit to a protected page, renaming of a protected page, etc.) should receive consensus from the wiki community before being requested here, and a link should be provided to that consensus in the request.
- For global lock/block requests, file a request at Steward requests/Global.
- For non-controversial deletion requests such as empty page, simple spam or vandalism, and non-controversial or emergency requests to block vandals, spammers or other malicious users, you may use global sysop requests instead.
- If a consensus is considered required to act, similar principles apply as expressed at Steward requests/Permissions/Minimum voting requirements, and can be used for guidance to how and what should be done at small and medium communities to gain a consensus.
To add a new request, create a new section header at the bottom of the "Manual requests" section using the format below:
=== Very brief description of request here === {{Status|In progress}} Give details about your request here. --~~~~
It is helpful if you can provide a link to the wiki (or the specific page on the wiki) in question, either in the header or in the body of your request.
When reporting cross-wiki vandalism, the following template calls can be used to link to a user's contributions across all Wikimedia content wikis (these are for logged in users and non-logged-in users, respectively):
* {{sultool|Username}}
* {{luxotool|IP.address}}
Template {{LockHide}} can also be used in appropriate cases.
To request approval of OAuth consumers please use {{oauthapprequest}}
(see the documentation before using).
Old requests are archived by the date of their last comment.

Problematic user behavior
cs.wikt is small project with few active users (less than 10). It has three sysops, but two are inactive and not answering for requests for intervention for long time (1, 2) and third has no time and doesnt feel like to read disputes between me and Dan Polansky. One of reason can be that few years ago the roles were reversed and I was exhibiting the same objectionable behavior as the one I am now protecting the project from - so maybe from the optics of this sysop there are two troublemakers and he is not willing to read about the heart of the dispute and what is wrong. Complication is also that the community is fragmented and there is mostly animosity between individual members, so it is hard to find somebody to help me. Also members just don't have enough time, as same as me. So it is reason why I need help from you and I am prepared to answer for your questions. Dan Polansky was not so active on cs.wikt before, as now he is (few weeks), because he has new infinite block on en.wikt. From this time he began "to improve" many things in very short time on cs.wikt which are all complete out of our prescribed article format. He repeatedly wrote that he would not respect the rules such mentioned WS:FH, cite rules, verification rules, etc. - he challenged almost every authority in order to assert his views - mostly by edit wars. When it came any revert for his "improvement", usualy he should continue following this diagram, but instead of that, he began usually the edit war. Only by persistent long-term persuasion and pressure did I force him to discuss the issues, so now it is no longer purely a reversal war, but a mix with discussion. But arguments are very often very subjective and although Dan Polansky very often refers to the status quo, he does not follow the status quo during the editing wars when it is not helpful for advancing his cause. Here you can see that the problem has been going on for a month and the problem is that i have too much another work and I am not able to constantly monitor and fix his deliberate mass bugs and "improvements". I didn't come here asking for some long block because cs.wikt is in desperate need of editors. But I would need some pep talk or a short warning block to stop the editing wars and sit down at the negotiating table. And if it is not possible to do like this, I can manage these problems by myself, but I would appreciate some kind of help that would force Dan Polansky to respect basic rules on cs.wikt, which to his disappointment are quite different than what he was used to on en.wikt. So even if no specific action comes from you, I will be very grateful for at least some advice. Thank you for your time and I am sorry for the length. --Palu (talk) 20:18, 26 April 2023 (UTC)
- Every day I have to do hundreds of totaly useless edits only to protect konsensual format. It would be great if you can help me somehow. --Palu (talk) 16:47, 28 April 2023 (UTC)
"fake namespace" at mhrwiki
- Moved from GSR.

- This appears to be an improvised namespace for a Wikinews subproject. ~~~~
User:1234qwer1234qwer4 (talk) 19:48, 8 June 2022 (UTC)- Is there any policy or consensus on this matter? NguoiDungKhongDinhDanh 19:56, 8 June 2022 (UTC)
- alswiki has a similar project. I suppose there was consensus given the number of pages, but not sure if that's sufficient to request the namespace to be actually created on Phabricator. ~~~~
User:1234qwer1234qwer4 (talk) 20:02, 8 June 2022 (UTC)- According to w:mhr:Category:Викиувер, some of them were even created in Wikipedia namespace. User:1234qwer1234qwer4 (talk) 20:31, 8 June 2022 (UTC)- Nearly three weeks have passed. Given that this page is only for non-controversial requests, those article can probably be left there for now. NguoiDungKhongDinhDanh 15:54, 28 June 2022 (UTC)

User:1234qwer1234qwer4 (talk) 20:32, 28 June 2022 (UTC)- They should definitely be imported to Incubator, but, given that no comments were left at the discussion you started, it is likely that they will continue creating such articles. NguoiDungKhongDinhDanh 21:15, 28 June 2022 (UTC)

- Comment I think they can be moved to existing namespace for now. It can be something like 'Wikipedia/wikinews/PAGENAME'. From there, community can decided what to do with those. Right now, I don't think we need a new namespace, and it's not up to us to decide that anyway. The community should get a consensus for a new namespace to be created.--BRP ever 00:36, 4 July 2022 (UTC)
- I suppose the fact the namespace is de facto used is some kind of consensus. I don't think WP namespace is really appropriate for them though (only a few are currently located there, more likely on accident). ~~~~

kmwiktionary: collapsible boxes to work on mobile
Please add the following scripts in Mediawiki namespace: navframe.js, common.js, common.css, mobile.css. Please also change the namespace and its talk page to translated one: "Wiktionary" → "វិគីនានុក្រម". Thank you. — RalvahKaset (talk) 06:01, 18 April 2023 (UTC)
- @RalvahKaset, for the latter one you have to follow Requesting wiki configuration changes, it is not changed with an on wiki edit. --Base (talk) 00:54, 22 April 2023 (UTC)
- I see, thank you. So I'd like to retain the former request only. RalvahKaset (talk) 02:59, 22 April 2023 (UTC)
Russian propaganda in Russian Wikibooks
Hi! There is a page Interesting social studies/Special military operation in Ukraine in Russian Wikibooks. It was nominated to deletion, because it is full of Russian propaganda, such as "The purpose of the operation is to liberate from the nationalists primarily the industrial regions of the East of Ukraine" ("Целью операции является освобождение от националистов прежде всего промышленных районов Востока Украины"), see AfD. Unfortunately, the administrator said "Due to the complexity and obvious conflictness and possible danger, I find it difficult to close it" ("в связи со сложностью и явной конфликтностью и возможной опасностью я затрудняюсь подвести итог") and recommended as a possibility to "Take the issue to the level of the Wikimedia Foundation and leave the problem to those who have enough authority to make such decisions, primarily the stewards" ("Вынести вопрос на уровень Фонда Викимедиа и предоставить решать проблему тем, у кого достаточно полномочий принимать такие решения, в первую очередь стюардов"). Could you take a look? --Wikisaurus (talk) 00:04, 4 May 2023 (UTC)
- I don't believe this requires, or would benefit from, steward action. The local discussion isn't exactly conclusive, and I understand it very likely can't be for safety reasons, but...this is fundamentally a local decision. Without local consensus, there is no basis for global action.
- And, from my perspective, this isn't worth the trouble of seeking global action. As noted in the discussion, there is the good point that few to no people will read it this, and that it may (hopefully) be easier in the future to safely discuss its inclusion in the Russian Wikibooks. I understand that there are neutrality policies, but maybe some sort of compromise can be reached, perhaps to add a note designating it as the personal perspective of the author rather than a neutral textbook-style piece. kowiktionary: page deletion request
There is no active admin at kowiktionary. 편집 필터 has sysop flag, but as you can know at Special:CentralAuth, this is not the real account. I request deletion of pages of wikt:ko:분류:삭제 대상. Thank you. --LR0725 (talk) 14:52, 12 May 2023 (UTC)
OAuth permissions
Preferably permission requests should be submitted using the form from Special:OAuthConsumerRegistration.
After submitting this form, you will receive a token that your application will use to identify itself to MediaWiki. An OAuth administrator will need to approve your application before it can be authorized by other users. It is possible to request approval using {{oauthapprequest}}, please create a sub-section to this part. A few recommendations and remarks:
