- Formula One: Juan Pablo Montoya wins The Italian Grand Prix at the Autodromo Nazionale di Monza. The McLaren-Mercedes driver finished 2.479 and 17.9 seconds ahead of Renault drivers Fernando Alonso and Giancarlo Fisichella, respectively. Kimi Räikkönen who started 11th finished fourth.
