128 year old woman in jamaica dies

The woman, believed to be the oldest person in Jamaica, has died and was buried yesterday in Manchester.

Mary Ewen, otherwise called 'Granny Mary', died at the age of 128. She was born at Coley Mountain in Manchester on May 5, 1878. She died on April 10. Granny Mary was married to Tommy Ewen of Coley Mountain, and had six children. Two of her daughters are still alive, one is 82 and the other is 84 years old.

Lived a clean life

Granny Mary's granddaughter, Yvonne Hall, was her caregiver. She is one of Granny Mary's 25 grand-, great-grand and great-great grandchildren. Granny Mary attended the Coley Mountain Elementary School. She lived a clean life and she never drank alcohol. She was a midwife in her district and delivered many babies.

The beloved woman was very fond of children and was a devoted Christian and church attender.

Her father reportedly lived for 130 years. Granny Mary attributed her long years to God's blessing and the eating of simple and healthy natural foods.

She was buried at the Grace Open Bible Church, Coley Mountain.

NatureDevil is a rock, grunge, punk, metal and emo band containing a seemingly constant changing line-up of musicians playing songs that were written by the singer/songwriter and multi-instrumentalist Brian Scott Lambrecht a.k.a. NatureDevil.

They have performed at over 60 venues in the Chicagoland area, including the Double Door, Martyr's, the Note, the Congress Theater, Pennyroad Pub, the Elbo Room, Bird's Nest and Wise Fools Pub.

The NatureDevil song "We're Big In Europe!" was featured several times on WKQX Chicago radio station Q101, as well as many other local college radio stations. The song comes from the four song indie release "Through the Red" put out by NatureDevil in the spring of 2006.

Doam Vam Toai (born 1945 in Vietnam) is a vice president of the Saigon Student Union in 1969 and 1970, and autor of The Vietnamese Gulag. It was published in 1986 by Simon and Schuster Publishing Group, New York (ISBN 9780671603502 ISBN 0671603507) , 351 pp.

Toai spent time in jails in South Vietnam for antigovernment activities as a student leader. After the invasion of the North Vietnamese Army and the end of the Vietnam War in 1975, he became a senior official of the Ministry of Finance under the Provisional Government. He soon disagreed on purely professional grounds with a superior official and was quickly and unceremoniously tossed into jail. He left Vietnam in May 1978 and like Truong Nhu Tang, went into exile in Paris.

Doan Van Toai is also autor of these books : Documents on prisons in Viet-Nam ; A Vietcong Memoir (Mémoires d'un Vietcong, w/ Nhu Tang Truong, David Chanoff); 'Vietnam' A Portrait of its People at War (w/ David Chanoff); PORTRAIT Of The ENEMY The Other Side of Vietnam, Told Through Interviews with North Vietnamese, Former Vietcong and Southern Opposition Leaders (w/ David Chanoff).

Kristen Wentrcek is a member of Manhattan Community Board 1, having been appointed by Borough President Scott Stringer in 2007.

Wentrcek is the Director of Operations for JANI Real Estate, a New York City based Real Estate Development and Management Company. Working directly under developer Stanley Perelman, Wentrcek is actively involved with One York Street, famed Mexican Architect, Enrique Norten’s first residential development in the United States.

New York City Tap Water is a term popularized in NYC restaurants to specify the use of "free" tap water instead of "over-priced" bottled water. The distinction became nescesary when restaurants would provide fancy bottled water to customers and charge excessive sums of money. Because the price of these rare bottles waters were unknown to the consumer at the time of purchase, the price on the bill could be set to virtually anything. The term gained further popularity when blind water taste tests (most notably ABC's 20/20) placed NYC tap water ahead many popular bottled waters. NYC Tap Water is generally considered of an exceptional quality and taste to other big city tap waters. However, this quality is not without its price, NYC spends an exceptionally large maintaining reservoirs in the surrounding tri-state area most notably in the Catskill Mountains, the Croton Watershed, and Westchester, New York

QuarkCopyDesk (often only CopyDesk) is a professional word processing software product made by Quark Inc..

Flavors

There are two versions of CopyDesk available: One is sold with Quark's editorial system QPS and one is sold standalone. Both versions are tightly integrated with QuarkXPress.

CopyDesk is primarily used by newspapers and magazines to write, edit and style text (copy). The software includes standard word processing features such as spell check, track changes and word count. Its integration with QuarkXPress allows exact copy fittign infroamtion and previews, which ensures the editor to see whether the text fits correctly in the corresponding QuarkXPress layout and to control hyphenation.

Since 1999 InCopy from Adobe is direct competitor to CopyDesk, which was lauched 1991.

Viewing modes

CopyDesk offers three viewing modes: Story, Galley and WYSIWYG. The Story mode displays the story text across the screen's entire width without formatting. This provides an interface for users more comfortable with traditional word processors to read and edit copy and allows text to be seen larger and in a different font than it would appear in the layout.

The Galley mode also displays the text without formatting, but shows style sheets that have been applied to the copy and also the correct hyphenation and line endings. Galley mode shows copy as one column wide and - via visual markers - also shows jumps and column breaks.

However, the Galley mode lacks a true representation of the design and layout – these features are reserved for the WYSIWYG mode. This view shows a page representation and the text with all its formatting. However, the editor can onyl edit text (or add pictures) and not the layout itself. Which is also the main benefit, it prevents editors from deliberately or accidentally alter the layout.

Sebastian Moeritz (born 1970, Berlin, Germany) is an entrepreneur with an extensive business and corporate experience in a number of international markets and an internationally recognised figure in the field of digital video coding and its various applications.

After studies in social sciences and economics, he previously specialised in property and investment with a specific focus on Russia.

Since 1996 he has been involved in a number of information technology related ventures and joined dicas, a developer of MPEG-4 and H.264/MPEG-4 AVC real-time video coding solutions, based in Germany, as its CEO in the beginning of 2001.

Since 2004, Moeritz is President of the MPEG Industry Forum (MPEGIF) and has been on its Board of Directors since 2002 serving as Treasurer until 2004. MPEGIF, is a notfor- profit organization promoting the adoption of open MPEG standards -- such as MPEG-4 (including MPEG-4 AVC and MPEG-4 HE AAC), MPEG-7 and MPEG-21-- representing around 75 international companies and institutes from diverse industries making it the world's largest advocacy group for MPEG technologies. MPEGIF has been one of the driving forces behind the broad adoption of H.264/MPEG-4 AVC as the video codec for next generation video delivery in broadcast, IPTV, streaming and mobile TV amongst a variety of other multimedia applications.

Anita Lasker Wallfisch, (born 1925 in Breslau) is a cellist of world renown and is a surviving member of the Women's Orchestra in Auschwitz.

Anita Lasker Wallfisch was born in to a professional Jewish family, one of three sisters (Marianne and Renata) and a brother (Edward). Her father was a lawyer; her mother a fine violinist. They suffered discrimination from 1933 but as their father had fought at the front in the first war, gaining an Iron Cross, the family felt some degree of immunity.

Edward emigrated to the US prior to the war. Marianne, the eldest sister fled to England in 1941. In April 1942 Anita's parents were taken away and are believed to have been died at Isbica, near Lublin, in Poland. Anita and Renata were not deported because they were working in a paper factory. There, they met French prisoners of war and started forging papers to enable French slave labourers to cross back into France. In September 1942 they themselves tried to escape to France, but were arrested for forgery at Breslau station by the Gestapo. Only their suitcase, which they had already put on the train, escaped. The Gestapo were anxious about its loss, and carefully noted its size and colour. "I had been in prison for about a year," she recalls. "Then one day I was called down. A suitcase has arrived: could I identify it? It was my suit case. They stole everything, they killed everybody, but that suitcase really mattered to them. They had found the suitcase and everything was fine, though I never saw it again because it then went into the vaults of the prison and later I saw a guard wearing one of my dresses."

Anita and her sister were eventually sent to Auschwitz on separate prison trains, a far less squalid way to arrive than by cattle truck. Less dangerous, too, since there was no selection on arrival. Better yet was to be a prisoner who played the cello. Her membership in the 40-strong orchestra saved her as cello players were difficult to replace. The orchestra played marches as the slave labourers left the camp for each day's work and when they returned. They also gave concerts for the SS.

By October 1944, the Russians were advancing and Auschwitz was evacuated. Anita was taken on a train with 3,000 others to Belsen and survived six months with almost nothing to eat. Renata, who could speak English, became an interpreter with the British army. In 1946 Anita and Renata moved to Britain with the help of Marianne.

Anita joined the English Chamber Orchestra to perform with it as both a member and as a solo artist. She toured internationally but only returned to Germany with the ECO in 1994. She is mother to Raphael Wallfisch, cellist (born 1953). She now lives in London.

Mary Brewerton is the endorsed ALP candidate to contest the seat of Mayo at the next Australian Federal Election, expected to be held in late 2007.

Mary, a Gumeracha resident and former nurse was selected by the ALP to challenge Liberal candidate Alexander Downer.

On the day of her endorcement she said, “I’ve decided to stand because I believe this country needs a change.

“We need to create conditions where individuals and families are given a fair go and we need to safeguard the environment for our children and grandchildren, this just isn’t happening under John Howard.

“I have worked as a nurse in various positions and in health management. I believe I have the work and life experience to represent the working families of Mayo,” Mary said.

South Australian ALP State Secretary, Michael Brown welcomed her selection by saying, “The message we have been getting is that the Howard Government is out of touch and people are looking for a change. Mary is motivated, has good links to the community and the desire to bring about that change.”

Mary Brewerton, aged 53, has been married to husband, Ian, for 33 years. She has two adult children.

She has had connections with Gumeracha for over 30 years and has lived there for the last 13 years, following a return to Adelaide and the Hills after living in Victoria for 15 years.

Mary qualified as a registered nurse and has worked in hospitals and nursing services in South Australia and Victoria. She has also been the South Australian State Manager of a surgical supply company.

Mary’s qualifications include a post-registration Bachelor of Nursing and a Masters of Business Administration.

This isn’t the cliched rags to riches success story, it’s about ragas to riches, about taking your passions seriously and making it your Universe. This is exactly what the president & managing director of Universal Music, Vijay J Lazarus did, as he virtually created music divas just by following his inner voice.

Pretty much a ‘one thing led to another’ sequence of events initiated Lazarus into the world of music. Back in the 1970s, in his position of president of the Rotary Club, he approached Polydor, a reputed music company as a prospective sponsor for a music programme the Club was organizing. In his interaction with the managing director, he not only managed the sponsorship but also landed himself a job as he completely floored the MD with his concept and diligence. A strategic step at the time, as the music industry would certainly offer growth prospects. Down the years Lazarus grew consistently with the company assuming the title of MD in the 1990s and is currently the president and managing director. He has basically seen the company through its the years as it changed from Polydor to Music India to Polygram and now Universal. He has also contributed to ingenious solo singers becoming icons in their realms. The likes of Pankaj Udhas and Peenaz Masani have been introduced to their fan followings during his long standing career. In fact it wouldn’t be an exaggeration to say that he has almost created an audience for the Ghazal and Bhajan genre of music. ‘London has the highest comfort level, with its countryside ambiance, unassuming lifestyle and of course – theatre’

But its certainly not been a journey of all work and no play for Lazarus as he played lead Opera roles such as that of the famous Oliver, and Robin Hood in his scholastic days. He’s also been quite a "player" strictly with the implication of being a sport. He’s been part of the national bandwagon of cricket fanatics and has made it to the inter-collegiate level although he sighs he couldn’t be a part of the national cricket team. But while he couldn’t take cricket to the national level he tried his hand at tennis, football and hockey. Tennis he follows to a great extent and has been to the Wimbledon on two occasions with his wife.

So does Univer sal’s MD’s cosmos revolve around music and cricket?

Not a chance. Traveling is the unprecedented numero uno among his varying interests. Travelling through his thoughts, he humourously remarked, "As a family we have traveled so extensively that my son was once asked if collecting visas was his hobby. I basically believe that travel is an education in itself. I travel a great deal on business but I simply love to take time out and travel."

On a reminiscent note, he very fondly says, "One of our most memorable vacations would be in Yugoslavia, in this town called Prates Lava, which is on the other side of Venice. Beauty is in abundance, everything so natural, even the habitat, flora and fauna. It was extremely rustic in comparison to the sophistication of Venice." As someone who has to travel long distances as a result of his position what he appreciates the most when traveling is the feeling of "home". In fact when traveling in India, he tends to patronize the Taj group as he feels that they bring out the essence of Indianness. Even the cuisine at the Taj hotels, he says, is essentially Indian. When traveling overseas he isn’t particularly difficult but in-flight cuisine often poses a problem. However, he feels in-flight services on an average have ameliorated significantly in most airlines,especially Swiss, Lufthansa, KLM, Singapore Airlines, Thai Airways and Malaysian Airlines. In terms of places, London, he says has the highest comfort level, with its countryside ambiance and unassuming lifestyle and of course - theatre. "New York always leaves me amazed with its pulsating rhythm. Among the other places that I prefer are Australia and the Far East. Within India nothing compares to the beauty of the backwaters of Kerala and the evergreen charisma of Kashmir. Of course the real joy in experiencing places is with the family,” he says.

So what is the driving force behind devoting endless hours at work, spending quality time with the family and pursuing his varied diversions. The answer was prompt and straight from the heart, " I have drawn complete strength in experiencing life through my faith in the Almighty."

Plot summary

Daniel First meets Boone while doing community service at an East Village grade school. The boys strike up a friendship during which Daniel learns that Boone's mother is sick and may be hospitalized. He also learns that Boone has an older sister, Charlotte, who lives in Dallas. When Boone does not show up for school a few days later, Daniel begins to ask questions and learns that Boone was placed into a temporary foster care in Upstate New York. After being turned down as an adoption candidate, and failing to convince his Father to help him gain custody, Daniel decides to rescue Boone from the orphanage. He puts all his street smarts to use and they head to Dallas. While the goal is to locate Boone's sister, the heart of the story is the unexpected bond Daniel and Boone form throughout their road trip adventure.

NAS International is the umbrella body for the international branches of the Nigerian charitable and humanitarian organisation known as the National Association of Seadogs (NAS). NAS is the registered name for the group also known as the PYRATES CONFRATERNITY.

It began as a University campus confraternity in the premier university, University of Ibadan, Nigeria and has grown into an international organisation with branches in 36 states of Nigeria including the Federal Capital Territory, South Africa, UK, USA, Japan, The Netherlands and Canada.

Erika Thormahlen, born September 3, 1980, in Ashland, Oregon began modeling at the age of 10. While studying for her degree in English and creative writing at UCLA she was cast on the NBC Saturday morning program, "Just Deal", as Ashley Gordon. The show ran for 39 episodes. She has also appeared on the series "Angel" playing a drug-addict and starred in the film "Smile for the Camera", directed by Jordan Galland and written by both Galland and Sean Lennon.

Erika also created, wrote and produced a TV pilot for kids focusing on food and nutrition called, "What's Cooking with Waffles and Mousemeat". The puppet show also features a human cast including Simon Helberg, Jason Ritter and a guest interview with Maroon 5. The show premiered at the 2006 New York Television Festival and was a TV Guide "Hot Pick".

Spirit of Wolf is an Everquest/Everquest 2 term referring to the spell that Druids (Wardens/Furies) and Shamans (Mystic/Defilers) get when they reach a certain level. It is a buff, causing each person that it is casted on to run at a faster than normal speed out of combat. It's base speed is 20% faster, but with the Echoes of Faydwer expansion, you can upgrade it using the Achievement system. For Druids, you can upgrade it by 5% with each point you earn, to a max of 45%. Shamans can upgrade it by 4% per point, reaching a max of 40%. This is no doubt a valuable upgrade, because they both are speeds equal to high level mounts like horses and Wargs, that cost much guild status and platinum.

Eroni Clarke (31 March 1969 - ) is a former professional rugby union player and All Black centre/wing.

Clarke played representative rugby for Auckland, and made his All Blacks debut on June, 1992 against a World XV. He played 14 games for the All Blacks of which 10 were tests, and scored 11 tries, 6 of them in tests. His final appearance for the All Blacks was against Australia at Sydney in 1998.

The film was directed by John-Luke Montias ("Bobby G. Can't Swim") and shot in 16mm entirely on ___location in New York City during the summer of 2005. It premiered in September 2005 at the inaugural New York Television Festival, and was an official selection in 2006 of the Vail Film Festival and CineVegas International Film Festival before being released on DVD in December 2006.

Plot summary

Nicky Singer (Ventimiglia) is a down on his luck Brooklyn native who has parlayed his Yale education into a job eking out a living as a professional poker player. Using his wits to navigate the seedy world of underground poker, Nicky must balance his own interest with those of his father (Young), a retiree whose own gambling debts have pushed him to the brink of eviction. In a struggle to keep his head above water, Nicky encounters a diverse group of wannabe mobsters, thugs, and other eccentric characters.

Ryan William Adams was born on September 21, 1979 in Lynchburg, Virginia Hospital. Ryan is the son of James William Adams and Hettie Nell Adams. Ryan went to Lynchburg Christian Academy in Lynchburg, Virginia. Ryan was employed by Tomball Bible Church in Tomball, Texas as Youth Pastor from 2000-2004. Giada Colagrande was born in Pescara, Italy, on October 16, 1975. In 1995, she started making videoart. In 1997, she realized her first short film "Carnaval" (35mm, 13 min.). From 1997 to 2000, she worked on the contemporary art project "Volume", making documentaries on such artists as Alfredo Pirri, Jannis Kounellis, Bernhard Rudiger, Nunzio, Raimund Kummer, Gianni Dessi, Sol Lewitt , Maurizio Savini. In 1998, she made "Fetus 4 Brings Death" (35mm, 25 min.), and in 2000 "n.3" (video, 7min.). Her short films and documentaries have been shown in various film festivals and art galleries. In 2002, Giada wrote, directed and starred in her first feature film Open My Heart (Open my heart). It premiered at the Venice International Film Festival in 2002, and went on to Tribeca Film Festival 2003 and many other international film festivals, where it won various awards. Open My Heart was released in Italy by Lucky Red and in the USA by Strand Releasing. In 2005, she directed her second feature Before It Had a Name, which she co-wrote and co-starred in with Willem Dafoe. The movie premiered at the Venice International Film Festival in 2005 and was then shown in other prestigious international film festivals such as San Sebastian Film Festival.

John F Kennedy Hearse

John F Kennedy's hearse that was used in Dallas on November 22nd, 1963 was a Cadillac Miller Meteor Hearse. The car was owned at the time by the O'Neal Funeral Home in Dallas. They had the Dallas City contract and were asked to handle the transport of JFK's body from Parkland Hospital to Love Field for a return to Washington D.C. aboard Air Force I.

The car has been owned for since the late 1960's by Ardeen Vaughn and is in the process of being sold by The Worldwide Group Auction Company.
