Declined prod. All the sources are results listings/databases and insufficient for meeting WP:SPORTSCRIT. Those wanting to keep must show actual indepth third party sources. LibStar (talk) 23:54, 6 May 2025 (UTC)

- Weak Redirect to Republic of the Congo at the 1988 Summer Olympics, not notable by itself but as a redirect to broader Congo Olympics article. I could be wrong -- tell me if the rules call for outright deletion or a redirect for non-notable olympians. AnonymousScholar49 (talk) 00:02, 7 May 2025 (UTC)
- There is currently no clear consensus for what should be done about non-notable Olympians, at least in part because the phrase "non-notable Olympians" is sometimes an oxymoron per comment,
"At some level, we all know that there is local coverage on every modern Olympic athlete, because (a) local newspapers always run the 'local kid does well internationally' kinds of stories, because articles that combine national pride, local people, and good news sell well, and (b) every time someone has actually done the work of getting access to paper copies, they've found these sources"
. This article definitely needs more secondary prose-based sources, but the notability of any subject is determined by the existence of sources, not their presence in the article. The issue is that the most likely venues for sourcing have, without exception, not published their 1980s daily archives online yet. So we're at an impasse. --Habst (talk) 01:49, 7 May 2025 (UTC)- Here we go again, invoking NEXIST and no other editor agrees with your keep rationale. LibStar (talk) 06:35, 13 May 2025 (UTC)

- Redirect to Republic of the Congo at the 1988 Summer Olympics: Like others, I can't find any WP:SIGCOV for this athlete to meet WP:SPORTSBASIC. Redirect as a WP:ATD. Let'srun (talk) 22:22, 10 May 2025 (UTC)
- Redirect to Republic of the Congo at the 1988 Summer Olympics : I understand Habst comment and it make sense, but we still need sources FuzzyMagma (talk) 09:53, 11 May 2025 (UTC)
- Redirect to Republic of the Congo at the 1988 Summer Olympics Does not seem to have enough coverage for stand alone article. Ramos1990 (talk) 04:39, 13 May 2025 (UTC)
- Redirect to Republic of the Congo at the 1988 Summer Olympics .This alternative to deletion, is good as it does not seem to have enough notability for stand alone article. VortexPhantom🔥 (talk) 07:37, 13 May 2025 (UTC)
