This is a collection of discussions on the deletion of articles related to Ukraine. It is one of many deletion lists coordinated by WikiProject Deletion sorting. Anyone can help maintain the list on this page.

Adding a new AfD discussion

Adding an AfD to this page does not add it to the main page at WP:AFD. Similarly, removing an AfD from this page does not remove it from the main page at WP:AFD. If you want to nominate an article for deletion, go through the process on that page before adding it to this page. To add a discussion to this page, follow these steps:

Edit this page and add {{Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/PageName}} to the top of the list. Replace "PageName" with the relevant article name, i.e. the one on the existing AFD discussion. Also, indicate the title of the article in the edit summary as it is particularly helpful to add a link to the article in the edit summary. When you save the page, the discussion will automatically appear.
You should also tag the AfD by adding {{subst:delsort|Ukraine|~~~~}} to it, which will inform editors that it has been listed here. You may place this tag above or below the nomination statement or at the end of the discussion thread.

There are a few scripts and tools that can make this easier.

Removing a closed AfD discussion

Closed AfD discussions are automatically removed by a bot.

Other types of discussions

You can also add and remove other discussions (prod, CfD, TfD etc.) related to Ukraine. For the other XfD's, the process is the same as AfD (except {{Wikipedia:Miscellany for deletion/PageName}} is used for MFD and {{transclude xfd}} for the rest). For PRODs, adding a link with {{prodded}} will suffice.

Primary contributor/creator (with Logologist being an older account of Nihil novi) has self-identified on Wikipedia as someone who is related to the subject of this article (see this diff, book can be found on Internet Archive where the name can be confirmed).

Undisclosed COI aside, sourcing is really poor throughout. The parts of the article that contain references are mostly sourced from the subject’s own works (including memoirs which are not published anywhere, as far as I can ascertain) and a “Who’s Who” book which I would think best to extend caution on given the integrity of these genres of book as raised by MediaKyle at the AfD for Kasparek’s relative.

I’ve also had to remove material from the article which was cited to another source because it failed verification – it most likely employed some degree of original research. I imagine much of the other unsourced material is also OR.

I can find a couple of instances where Kasparek’s work has been cited in the occasional journal article and a single question/statement to the editors of the NY Book Review hosted on their website but no significant and reliable coverage regarding him. Batih

This article is currently supported by three offline sources, none of which I can access. Searching both in English and Ukrainian, I cannot find a single source referencing such an instrument. The Ukrainian article uk:батіг is about a (type of?) whip and doesn't mention a musical instrument at all. ukwiki mentions this instrument once, at uk:Українські народні інструменти ("Ukrainian folk instruments"), but without a citation, and the given Hornbostel–Sachs number 321.32-5 [1] doesn't exist, while 321.32, the parent category, corresponds to "Necked lutes: The handle is attached to or carved from the resonator, like a neck". This is supposedly a percussion instrument and should probably be under 111.211 (individual percussion sticks) if it existed at all, so that list entry doesn't inspire confidence. I'm at this point not entirely convinced this isn't a hoax.

The original author of the article and only substantial contributor has been blocked for violation of a topic ban which appears to have been imposed for "systematic POV-driven source falsification combined with plagiarism", so I cannot ask them to review their sources. Delete – The article on the batih as a musical instrument fails WP:GNG and may be a WP:HOAX. The original author’s block for systematic source falsification and plagiarism creates doubt about their reliability. ~~~~

The instrument indeed exists and I can forward scans of the related published sources in both Ukrainian and English. The article exists in the Ukrainian Wikipedia, but not in th e Russian Wikipedia ( as a different term is used in Russian.

1. Looking for "Ukrainian musical instruments" + "batih" ("українські народні музичні інструменти" "батіг") yields no results unlike with any other instruments. I tried looking for any of the books listed as sources, and while I can't find their text, Humeniuk's TOC is available and batih is not there.
2. I've also looked at scholar.google.com and there's literally nothing relevant in Ukrainian on musical instruments "batih" (музичні інструменти "батіг"). Le Loy (talk) 22:29, 25 August 2025 (UTC)[reply]

Ivanna Yastremska

Fails GNG. Tennis player who has no professional career to speak of and who also seems to have been inactive since 2022. All the coverage I can find about her is associated with her far more well-known sister Dayana Yastremska whose article I suggest a redirect to as an ATD if people prefer rather than to a straight deletion. Delete - Google search and news yield no significant coverage outside of her association with Dayana Yastremska. Her sister's article mentions her only once, so I don't think a redirect is strictly necessary. Epsilon.Prota ^talk 13:01, 12 August 2025 (UTC)[reply]

What about WP:Not Inherited? If this person's sister were not famous then there would be zero coverage of her. All the coverage that there is mentions her sister. I swear Wikipedia is mad. You want an article about a wannabe actor/singer with a famous sister who gets media coverage entirely because of said famous sister, but you want to delete Olympic finalists and even medalists because they come from a pre-internet age so proving they had coverage (although it is commonsense that they did) is impossible. By the way I'm using "you" collectively not personally. Anyway I'm saying no more on this. Keep it. Maybe she'll win an Oscar or a Grammy lol. Anxioustoavoid (talk) 19:26, 19 August 2025 (UTC)[reply]
Delete – per WP:GNG, as the provided media are either unreliable or fail WP:SIGCOV.

The headlines from the first source, PHOTO. Yastremska's sister showed her beauty. 10 out of 10, PHOTO. Bared her legs. Ukrainian tennis player impressed with her look, PHOTO. The Ukrainian tennis player published spicy photos. Fire. Clear case of tabloid journalism. They basically reported that she posted something to Instagram.
OK. Report that she started her professional tennis career.
Again, this is a tabloid-style report on her Instagram post, The Ukrainian tennis star's sister wore a seductive dress for a stunning photoshoot
Glavcom reported on an Instagram story she posted where she sang. This source is unreliable:
1. They reported that Putin might be planning to blow up the Zaporizhzhia Nuclear Power Plant, citing an anonymous Russian Telegram channel as a source.
2. In another piece, they said that a Hungarian airline forced a Ukrainian soldier off a plane in a headline. Two days later, they added a comment from a Ukrainian diplomat saying the man wasn't a soldier, but they didn't change the headline. They also didn't mention that the text was corrected, just appended "updated" to the title.
3. In 2016, they shared a story that Swedish diplomat Carl Bildt could become the next Ukrainian PM, which was widely republished by Russian media such as Sputnik.
The sport focused site provides only routine reports on her tournament performance, so it fails WP:SIGCOV. They only published three stories specifically about her: that she would play in a tournament, that she would play against a Swiss tennis player, and that she lost.
Same as above.

I didn't find any more reliable sources with significant coverage about her, therefore, this should be deleted. Kelob2678 (talk) 20:10, 25 August 2025 (UTC)[reply]
