Wikipedia:WikiProject Deletion sorting/Mexico

This is a collection of discussions on the deletion of articles related to Mexico. It is one of many deletion lists coordinated by WikiProject Deletion sorting. Anyone can help maintain the list on this page.
- Adding a new AfD discussion
- Adding an AfD to this page does not add it to the main page at WP:AFD. Similarly, removing an AfD from this page does not remove it from the main page at WP:AFD. If you want to nominate an article for deletion, go through the process on that page before adding it to this page. To add a discussion to this page, follow these steps:
- Edit this page and add {{Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/PageName}} to the top of the list. Replace "PageName" with the relevant article name, i.e. the one on the existing AFD discussion. Also, indicate the title of the article in the edit summary as it is particularly helpful to add a link to the article in the edit summary. When you save the page, the discussion will automatically appear.
- You should also tag the AfD by adding {{subst:delsort|Mexico|~~~~}} to it, which will inform editors that it has been listed here. You may place this tag above or below the nomination statement or at the end of the discussion thread.
- There are a few scripts and tools that can make this easier.
- Removing a closed AfD discussion
- Closed AfD discussions are automatically removed by a bot.
- Other types of discussions
- You can also add and remove other discussions (prod, CfD, TfD etc.) related to Mexico. For the other XfD's, the process is the same as AfD (except {{Wikipedia:Miscellany for deletion/PageName}} is used for MFD and {{transclude xfd}} for the rest). For PRODs, adding a link with {{prodded}} will suffice.
- Further information
- For further information see Wikipedia's deletion policy and WP:AfD for general information about Articles for Deletion, including a list of article deletions sorted by day of nomination.
This list is also part of the larger list of deletion debates related to Americas.

edit- Christopher Bermudez (edit | talk | history | protect | delete | links | watch | logs | views) – (View AfD | edits since nomination)
- (Find sources: Google (books · news · scholar · free images · WP refs) · FENS · JSTOR · TWL)
Outside of a reserve team, Bermudez has thus far played in the third tier of American soccer at his highest level. I could not find non-primary sources about him to help establish notability, and therefore he appears to fail WP:GNG. Raskuly (talk) 05:33, 30 August 2025 (UTC)

- Delete - no evidence of notability. If sources are found which show significant coverage please ping me. GiantSnowman 09:04, 30 August 2025 (UTC)

Contested PROD by User:Kvng with no sources given demonstrating notability. Company fails WP:NCORP with a lack of significant coverage in reliable sources. ᴢxᴄᴠʙɴᴍ (ᴛ) 05:30, 24 August 2025 (UTC)

- Redirect to Rage of the Dragons#Development and release; lack of WP:SIGCOV, sources mainly appear to be videogame database sites and lists of game credits, which aren't evidence for per se notability. Pineapple Storage (talk) 13:03, 24 August 2025 (UTC)
- Redirect per Pineapple Storage. Go D. Usopp (talk) 02:11, 25 August 2025 (UTC)
- Redirect to Rage of the Dragons: No SIGCOV in RS. Sources are only fan sites and videogame databases. — Itzcuauhtli11 (talk) 15:29, 25 August 2025 (UTC)
- Redirect to Rage of the Dragons as preferred WP:ATD. This appears to be their only notable publication. ~Kvng (talk) 14:14, 29 August 2025 (UTC)
- 2020 Irapuato massacres (edit | talk | history | protect | delete | links | watch | logs | views) – (View AfD | edits since nomination)

Two non-notable shootings grouped together. Only news coverage, nothing here to indicate notability. Thebiguglyalien (talk) 🛸 22:52, 9 August 2025 (UTC)

Delete: Per WP:NOTNEWS, the article is not notable as only contemporary news coverage can be found. Other results on ProQuest for "Irapuato massacre" and "masacre de Irapuato" are for the 2025 shooting. XxTechnicianxX (talk) 16:59, 10 August 2025 (UTC)
- Redirect: Following the addition of contemporary sources, which still do not grant the subject notability per WP:NOTNEWS, a redirect to Irapuato#Massacres should be made per WP:ATD. XxTechnicianxX (talk) 15:35, 29 August 2025 (UTC)
- Delete per WP:PERSISTENCE - the repetition of the shootings may have given early editors impression that the topic was covered for longer after the initial event, but that has clearly subsided. Epsilon.Prota talk 14:50, 11 August 2025 (UTC)
KeepRedirect to Irapuato#Massacres per A. R. I just expanded the article to a much bigger length using text from fr wiki. Thepharoah17 (talk) 11:44, 12 August 2025 (UTC)

Relisting comment: Relisting. This article has been greatly expanded, could the participants review the current article and see if they agree with their previous arguments?
Please add new comments below this notice. Thanks, Liz Read! Talk! 23:18, 16 August 2025 (UTC)
- Delete: Regardless of the expansion of the background and initial reaction to the massacres, I'm still not convinced this satisfies the WP:PERSISTENCE requirements for coverage to have occured beyond the standard news cycle. A news search for "2020 irapuato massacres" doesn't return any results in the past year. Epsilon.Prota talk 12:23, 20 August 2025 (UTC)
- Comment - I know this is late in the discussion, but the article now cites many sources. Can keep voters (@Thepharoah17:) potentially highlight the 1 or 2 sources that contain the most substantive recent coverage? Thanks, Suriname0 (talk) 20:44, 20 August 2025 (UTC)
Redirectto Irapuato#Massacres unless there's post-2020 coverage. Certainly this article is now very well referenced thanks to @Thepharoah17; the only question is one of persistence. Ping me if post-2020 stuff is identified. --A. B. (talk • contribs • global count) 03:06, 21 August 2025 (UTC)- Keep per continuing coverage.[1][2][3] --A. B. (talk • contribs • global count) 03:17, 21 August 2025 (UTC)
- Weak Keep - The continued coverage looks pretty bad, but is probably barely sufficient to maintain a standalone article. Cheers, Suriname0 (talk) 04:33, 21 August 2025 (UTC)
- Redirect or Keep This should be kept somewhere if there isnt enough support for it to be kept as a standalone. Metallurgist (talk) 05:12, 21 August 2025 (UTC)
- Delete for failing WP:NEVENT. A redirect per WP:ATD would be acceptable as an alternative.4meter4 (talk) 02:40, 23 August 2025 (UTC)
- Merge and section-redirect to Irapuato#Massacres. These were obviously significant events to people living in the municipality of Irapuato, and there is certainly content from this draft that could be added to the one line in the section, which currently does not even specify that 38(!) deaths occurred.
